Eye Candy Day 27

6 comments:

  1. I remember him. He was Doctor Zhivago to Julie Christie's Lara and also, in Funny Girl, Nicky Arnstein to Barbra Streisand's Fanny Brice.

Billy Ray Barnwell once called him "arguably the most handsome Egyptian actor who ever lived"....

If I were young and female and he walked into the room, I'd be pregnant within five minutes. But I am old and doddering and male and can't think of his name at the moment.

  2. Oh, yes, my brain has now revived. Omar Sharif, I believe.

  3. And he got more handsome as he matured - like a good marsala.

  4. Now this is male eye candy I can appreciate because, encouraged by the Yorkshire-born actor Tom Courtenay, Omar Shariff is probably Hull City AFC's most famous supporter. He also received an honorary degree from the University of Hull earlier this year.

BTW Glad you're still breathing my dear!

  5. Robert. You make me smile. Thank you.

GB. Some people just get better as they age. Time will tell if we each are one.

YP. That's interesting. Actually it was posted automatically, so no proof I am still breathing. I think I still have about 2 years' worth of first-of-the-month eye candies stacked up like ... things stacked up.
But it's got me writing here again.

  6. Ahhh poor old Omar - - he doesn't do it for me. Too self-consciously "Oooh I'm SO handsome". Still, perhaps not having my adoration never worried him.
