'I'm always looking for the Hows and the Whys and the Whats,' said Muskrat, 'That is why I speak as I do. You've heard of Muskrat's Much-in-Little, of course?'
'No,' said the child. 'What is it?'

Rare sheep spotted from Sheffield Bus.

A rare new sheep breed has been discovered in Yorkshire. Like the Loch Ness Monster, for years it has been rumoured to exist but sightings have been rare, and images of this elusive creature have never been clear enough to positively identify it. A few days ago this blogger received the image above from a Mr Flutter of Micklebring. It appears the rare beastie was spotted sunning itself in the late Autumn rays in a back garden in a location near a bus stop on Psalter Lane, Sheffield, and this image was taken on his box Brownie that he always carries with him. Mr Flutter was on the way home on the bus when he happened to glance out of the window. He had been visiting his sister at 23 Pinner Road, who was suffering with her Nasty Rash, and had brought her an Unusually-Shaped parsnip that he had grown and which he thought might cheer her up. He told me he has informed Regional secretary Mrs Payne of the local branch of the Sheep Breeders Association, and that he would welcome the opportunity to be at their next meeting on Thursday 13th October at the Traveller's Rest, although that was his usual May Dancing practice night.

  1. Now I know you've flipped. Too much breathing of oil vapours obviously.

  2. What an excellent post - is there more in the same vein on your blog?

    I will investigate later!

PS The sheep looks so damned relaxed! I want one!

  3. When I focus in on the "sheep" in your picture I see it is comical and fraudulent. In contrast, my Beau is a proper sheep. Was your portrayal of everyday life in Sheffield originally composed by Enid Blyton? I see I will have to post more pictures of Beau to make you eat your words Katherine!

  4. Laughs merrily at everyone, while eating lashings of cream.
