Keep Calm

Went up to Auckland for the day and it's too late to write a decent post, so all you get this evening is a funny.

  1. Sorry Kate. Your humour is lost on me - far too subtle or highbrow. And it's not decent posts we need - it's indecent ones!

  2. Yorky, it's from Finding Nemo!

If the sign had said "Sherman" instead of "P. Sherman" it would have application here in Atlanta because General William Tecumseh Sherman of Lincoln's Union Army burned the city of Atlanta (also Columbia, South Carolina, and a few other places) to the ground in 1864 on his march to the sea during the U.S. Civil War. And we do remember. And we don't find it funny at all.

We'd much rather think about Finding Nemo....

  4. Err - isn't "Finding Nemo" a cartoon film for kids? As gentlemen of sixty or well over I think that both Cro Magnon and I qualify as adults! We stopped watching kids' films after visiting the cinema to see "Bambi"!

    1. Gentlemen of sixty or over do not go to see children's films by themselves. They go to see them with their grandchildren. As you have none yet, your point is well taken. It will change, however. It will change.

    2. Well, that's one viewpoint Robert. But here's another: What about getting the DVD out? Why wait until you have grandies to have fun and keep young at heart? You could look at it as preparation for them.

  5. YP. More fool you. You are missing out on some of the most amusing, clever, beautifully-crafted and erudite movies around.

  6. Given that at nearly 70 I'm now younger than I've ever been (and certainly younger than I was when I was a child) I'm all for the occasional children's film. I took Catriona (aged 12 at the time) to see The Croods on a grandather day last April. I shall now get Finding Nemo out and watch it.
