'No,' said the child. 'What is it?'

Potato Antidote

In case you need an antidote to something serious that is happening in your life, like tax returns, or a sore back (I have both, probably related) here is the Potato Song.

  2. We often take so much for granted without even thinking - thank you for reminding me of the many ways I love potatoes. I shall call you Saint Kate, protector of the simple spud.

  4. Yes "Er" indeed, never mind, I'm Saint Alden sometimes, master of the naff comment.

When I was a young fella growing up in Christchurch we used to have fires in the backyard (You could do this on the old style quarter acre sections) and bake spuds in the embers - wonderful. If you tried to do this today in suburbia the Fire Brigade, OSH and the Social Welfare Child Protection Unit would all arrive and you might end up in court!

    1. I dunno what Naff means Alden. But I always enjoy your comments. I just don't feel very saintly at the moment, being behind on my tax return.

  5. Potatoes are certainly one of The Lord God's best inventions - along with Tetley's beer, underpants and soil. Was that potato playing the guitar your avatar Kate?

      I love your priorities.
Don't know what I'd do without MY underpants either.

  6. That is so awful it's brilliant. I challenge anyone not to smile when they watch it (even if deep down they feel they should grimace and cringe).
