This looks a bit quaint and old fashioned but when I was teaching (A couple of years ago before retirement) the Life Education Trust which visits schools in its Education Caravans has a 'Visible Person' much like 'The Visible Dog' which it uses as a very effective teaching tool (A good idea is always a good idea!).
I am so pleased that I don't have transparent skin like that poor dog... or the nightmarish "Visible Person" that Aiden alluded to. I wonder what the girl in the picture is saying to the boy... "If I were you I would go for the braised lambs' livers in gravy." or maybe "D.O.G. spells dog you dimwit!"
I am also glad you don't have transparent skin YP. And I imagine Shirley is also pleased. I am sure that if she made you braised lambs' livers in gravy, she would not want to see them after they passed into your mouth.
It strikes me that I don't know the origin of your blog title... And at the school where I had my medical secretary education, they had an actual human skeleton for students to take apart and put back together. Not a model, mind, but a real one. Just a little bit creepy.
Any self-respecting medical school would always have a real articulated skeleton in the old days, I think. I have always had a soft spot for Mr Venus in 'Our Mutual Friend' who had trouble getting a wife because she 'objects to the profession'
