A horrible day at work today.
I had a bad headache yesterday which didn't go overnight, and it seemed to colour everything I experienced. And it was a testing day for other reasons too. The opposite of a rose-tinted day!
Some days you just do what you have to do, calling on the reserves and memory of other, diamond days, and just keep looking at the big picture.
I tried to keep in mind what I'm there for.
The children.
"....children ... are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls.
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you."
- Kahlil Gibran
That Khalil piece is fabulous, isn't it? I've stuck you on my bloglines, so will be able to keep up with your fabulous self xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Gorgeous Debbie!
ReplyDeleteHi I just wandered into your blog while browsing and I can really relate to those days when you just need to be reminded that kids will be kids and we can only take one day at a time. I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in and leaving a note Kathy. Hmm, actually the kids were not the problem at all, and it wasn't a small deer like yours either! Maybe I'll share the issue at a later date. Speaking of kids, love your mat-time dialogue. I did the 'take care of the Earth' thing one day... all they thought they heard was that if they didn't recycle their plastic the *POLAR BEARS* would *ALL DIE*.
