A funny look at the way and the why we keep putting things off... well, something I certainly do!
So, who is at your wheel right now?
'I'm always looking for the Hows and the Whys and the Whats,' said Muskrat, 'That is why I speak as I do. You've heard of Muskrat's Much-in-Little, of course?'
'No,' said the child. 'What is it?'

I Need a Homing Laptop
I am so good at losing my stuff recently!
The problem is I went away on my Big Trip and because I was worried about robbers coming and stealing any one of my five precious things that I hid them. Really well. And now I can't find one of them.
It's not my yummy new laptop. I am typing away on this right now. But it was for a while, and took me about a week to find on my return. So what I should have is a wee beeper or homing pigeon or something, that stays in the box (I am a box-keeper), never runs out of battery or energy, and when required, will call the missing object when it goes missing somewhere in the house. And that missing object would call or beep or coo back, and give away its location.
I even went to an extraordinarily large amount of trouble to photoshop this cool illustration for you, when I should have been doing something else.
Like looking for the Thing.

Suggestion
If you have had a bit of a gastro bug and feel yukky that your toothbrush might have picked it up too, and decide to put it in a saucepan with some water and boil it a little to sterilise it, don't leave it on while you go away and have tea, watch a short movie and then do some sewing.

Potato Antidote
In case you need an antidote to something serious that is happening in your life, like tax returns, or a sore back (I have both, probably related) here is the Potato Song.

Dictionary Words
From an article in the Times `2008, but worth posting here just for the sheer fun of it, I think.
"Dictionary compilers at Collins have decided that the word list for the forthcoming edition of its largest volume is embrangled with words so obscure that they are linguistic recrement. Such words, they say, must be exuviated abstergently to make room for modern additions that will act as a roborant for the book.

Such words, they say, must be exuviated abstergently to make room for modern additions that will act as a roborant for the book.
Readers who vilipend the compilers’ decision and vaticinate that society will be poorer without little-used words have been offered a chance to save them from the endangered list Collins, which is owned by News Corporation, parent company of The Times, has agreed that words will be granted a reprieve if evidence of their popularity emerges before February, when the word list is finalised."
Exuviation: Before full metamorphosis to the imago, this newly-hatched mantis will need to undergo several skin exuviations and after each will be vulnerable to predation until the new skin has hardened.

A Moment Frozen in Time
Why did the black and white dog cross the road?
To see the huge writing that had appeared?
I was checking out the Street View on one of the roads overlooking the small local town of Katikati for a mural I am doing, when I found this cute dog, captured and immortalised, if not forever, at least until the google camera car drives up this road again.
Has anyone else seen something funny on Google street view?

Eye Candy Day: TLVD Phenomenon Revisited
On the 1 September of my first year of blogging, I began the blogging series 'Eye Candy Day'. On the first of the month, each month, for the following four years, without missing a single one, I posted, usually without comment or hint as to who it was, an image of a pretty or handsome human. In my opinion, of course, and not always a truth universally acknowledged.
They were self-confessedly shallow, and possibly even slightly offensive to some, and justified by the words 'my Eye Candy Day should just be taken with a pinch of ..er.. sugar. I am usually so overly and deeply sensitive to others' feelings, once a month I have to redress the balance. :-)'
Today I thought I would repost the first one as a tribute to my tenacity in the face of enormous public pressure (actually they often got more jocular comments than other posts, and, once he got used to them, even from Yorkshire Pudding to whom they seemed a direct testosterone-infused glove slap).
So without more ado, here is the face and the link to that first Eye Candy Day. Many Happy Returns. Maybe …

Went up to Auckland for the day and it's too late to write a decent post, so all you get this evening is a funny.
