The remains of today

5.20 tonight, and as the cooking smell of tangy sweet marmalade mixed with new-baked bread infuses the house, the sun drops gently off my horizon ... perhaps to enter yours. It's been a lovely winter's day. Earlier I fell asleep in the sun, stretched out on a pile of stacked firewood. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, eh?

  1. Your day is over but mine has just begun. May I say I'm pleased that nobody put a match to the stacked firewood while you were sleeping on it. Another evocative photograph by the way.

  2. We will be spending this Sunday afternoon celebrating Mrs. RWP's birthday (it's Tuesday) with all 14 members of our immediate family (3 children, 3 in-laws, 6 grands, and ourselves). Eldest son will be cooking on the grill at his house, some 30 miles away. Filled our gas tank yesterday; we're ready to make the drive there and back.

    Your way is good too.

  4. Thank you YP. I am glad too, although the chances were very slim.

Robert - Now THAT sounds a very very nice way to spend a Sunday. Hope you all had a lovely day!
