Killeen and semiotics

I'm investigating the work of New Zealand artist Richard Killeen.  In doing so I need to understand a little of the study of semiotics - how we interpret signs.  Phew.  This is all new to me.  But fascinating.

Beauty in Unexpected Places

My life as an artist...

...officially began yesterday!  I am now a 'published' artist.

Here is the front of the new 2010 Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Diploma in Art handbook hot off the press.  I refer you to my 4 July post here.

I'm totally chuffed to little mint balls (as my Mum would have said), and have, only with difficulty, restrained myself from telling everyone I passed in the supermarket today.

How it went.

It's about 40 cm x 50 cm. 

 

Landscape - valleys

I've just done the underpainting on a new piece.  It's acrylics which I'm not very comfortable with, so we'll see how this goes...
