There's nothing better than home grown tomatoes. sheep poo? No, it's about growing varieties that taste and are not grown for transportation.
True, Red. If only I could remember which ones I chose this time. I think it was Russian Red, and Potentate. Only two plants (although one was a grafted 'SuperTom') but so much fruit!
Pony poo from the Pony club does wonders too.
I will never forget the moans when I ONCE made the children travel for THIRTY MINUTES in the same car as two supermarket bags of horse poo. They still remember it, 18 years later.
I can hardly wait to get all my stuff in.... especially the toms.
I will be able to vicariously enjoy yours in my iff-season.
I read the email of this comment when it came in and wondered what on this earth could possibly have evoked such an unthinkable comment from you Kate.
Ha ha. Geeb.
I can almost smell them from here
Hope you are not enjoying too much wind around your garden at the moment Helsie!?
There's no smell and no taste like home-grown tomatoes.
Geeb, They go so well with CHEESE too * wink*
I just love tomato sandwiches (lots of pepper) - don't tell me to add lettuce or any other ingredients! The only summer sandwich that eclipses tomatoes are cucumber sandwiches (And I am not English or go to the Queens garden parties). Cucumber sandwiches (lots of pepper) man, they take a lot of beating for wonderful eating.
Alden, I won't tell you to add anything. How nice to read of your enthusiasm.
They are better than they look too!
