'No,' said the child. 'What is it?'

My Dad

This is what my Dad was doing yesterday.  He and 13 others, 5ÂșC. Every second Wednesday they go climbing somewhere. He's 84 next month.  The only comment he made was that there 'wasn't much of a view'.

And on the OTHER Wednesdays he goes biking.

Concepts of Beauty

A project by Esther Honig.
She took a photo of herself, the first one below, and sent it to professional Photoshoppers around the world.  Her instructions were simple "Make me beautiful".

Ask Me

Ooo, yummy!  Just picked up the trial prints and digital images of my fishy paintings that I did when I was painting in the pet shop.
They have come out true to the original colours, and nice and crisp.  The originals are going to be on display in a local showhome but I plan to make some A4 prints available online.

From back: Dwarf Gourami, Yellow Lab and Blue Ram.
Coloured pencil over chalk on black paper.

Now, a request. Would you help me?
As an addition to my art website (katherinesteeds.com), I want to make up a set of questions people might want to ask me regarding my art, influences, and processes etc.
Although many of you and I go back a long way, if you didn't know much about me, what would you like to know?
Answers in the comments or email kate.steeds@gmail.com.

Finally, no, I haven't forgotten the Who Owns This Front Door competition.  Coming soon. Promise.

Granny goes to the Exhibition

One day last week I picked Granny up early and brought her over the hill to the exhibition.  She looked at all the paintings and had a cup of tea and a piece of carrot cake then read the entire three volumes of the 'Mother and Daughter's Trip to the World'. Later after lunch she had a two hour nap on Natalie's bed.
She said the house looked very nice and the paintings were very interesting but asked to be excused reading all the writing on them but she was a bit short to see it properly.
