'I'm always looking for the Hows and the Whys and the Whats,' said Muskrat, 'That is why I speak as I do. You've heard of Muskrat's Much-in-Little, of course?'
So is it your birthday then ? I need less subtle hints you know !!
Given the 18 hr time difference I'm thinking it's on the 23rd but then this post is dated 22nd so I donno if I've plenty of time to send greetings. Sighhhh. Anyway I'll cheat and do it here. I know you'll be in bed now but....
Happy birthday, Katherine!! Is this your real birthday, or your blog birthday? I'm sure you must be more than eleven .. .on the other hand, your blog can't be! LOL!
Oh fantastic, a Birthday! I love celebrating birthday's (even more so when they aren't mine.) ;) Happy Birthday Kathrine...and good wishes for many more to come! Have a wonderful day!!!
Oh thank you very much everyone! I had a lovely day. I sketched all morning and then in the afternoon my daughter N. and I drove over to Hamilton (up the Kaimai range and through the lovely green Waikato pastural country) to help oldest son T move into his new flat. You should have seen my trailer backing! You'd have been so impressed! And then as it was very late, he shouted us a lovely pizza and platter of yummy food at 'Barzurk's restaurant. Home at 11! Katherine, that sounds a perfect day, spent with your kids! My mother-in-law says its not your birthday, but your birthday MONTH, so HaPPY BirTHdaY and keep celebrating!! xx lori
I'm a tad late to wish you a happy birthday so I'll wish you a Happy Unbirthday instead.
I'm fascinated by the candle flames. I must be very unobservant because I'd never realised that flames burned with anything other than a 'normal' colour ie the blue centre and the yellow surround. Please tell me these have been edited.
That is just such a cool idea. I would never have thought of it. And so effective. Now all we need is someone to work on getting that effect with real flames. Hmmm.
And may you have many, many more!
ReplyDeleteMany happy returns Katherine! I have always wondered what those words mean.
ReplyDeleteI just counted the candles...each of them must represent 3 years.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATHERINE.
There's another birthday song, Irish, I think that I sing to kindergartners. Lyrics go like this:
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, happy birthday,
We love you.
Happy birthday, happy birthday,
May all your dreams come true.
When you blow out the candles,
One light stays a-glow.
That's the love-light in your eyes
Where 'ere you go.
It's got a nice melody. I wish I could I sing it for you.

ReplyDeleteI love that picture with the colored flames. The cake looks tasty too, even if it isn't chocolate.
