  2. I could sit and watch the waves rolling in for hours - if I had hours and I was near a beach!

  3. I was reminded when I saw this photo of the paintings by Quentin MacFarlane a well known painter of abstract seascapes - he was in his prime in the 1960s and 70s - he taught me art at Christchurch Training College 1971 - 73 - do you know of his work??

  5. Oh My Goodness! Of course I know of Quentin MacFarlane. He was in the same crowd as my Uncle Ted Bracey I think. How lucky you are to have him as tutor.

  6. Pondering: Strange that despite the number of these 'Beauty in Unexpected Places' that I have posted, Google search only offers them if those words are written in the comments. It appears that comments carry a lot of weight.

  7. That is so beautiful, so powerful. I would be so emotional being near a sea like that. I have lived on or by the sea for most of my life and I've yet to see surf like that. How sad is that?

  8. Actually, it wasn't very *big* surf, more like a close-up of a medium surf :-)
