    A very good illustration of a point that many people would like to forget.

    BTW, did you know they've found huge oil reserves in Ecuador, under a very large piece of virgin rainforest. The good news is that the Ecuadorians have said that if the world can raise the amount of money it would have made for them, they'll leave it there.

  2. You inspired me to google it, Jay. Extremely interesting. I hope it is seen as a new and excellent 'model for change' rather than a 'dangerous precedent'.
    Oil exploration has been suspended in this wonderful area now, as the E govt has received the money they asked for...
    I have put the Yasuni National Park on my bucket list of places to visit!
    The Guardian article said it "is thought to have more mammal, bird, amphibian and plant species than any other spot on earth".
