Although these blogposts are written by me, and (sometimes) for me only, the vast majority of the time I have in mind a post that I hope will be of interest or amusement to others. You.
And it's the comments, the feedback, the penny's worth from you, that makes blogging especially worthwhile to me. Comments are not only the icing of the cake, they are the dried fruit, cherries and nuts inside too!
So, as I have been blogging now for almost exactly six years, I was hoping that you have enough examples now, and would tell me what you like best. (If you need reminding, the categories down the margin will lead you to some typical posts).
There's a poll at the top left-hand side of this page. It's anonymous, you can only vote once (but can vote for more than one category), and if you do, you will help me to write more of the sorts of things you want to read.
Please do! I'd love to get your opinion.
Here are a few images from the last six years' posts:
Congratulations on 6 years Katherine. I am sure your photos will bring back memories for your long term readers.
ReplyDeleteI have loved those posts where we have seen your art in development and I also like posts that give me greater insight into real people's lives in New Zealand and I like posts that refer to your family but I am happy to absorb anything you choose to post. After all it's your blog and I am just a visitor - I must eat what you choose to present.
ReplyDeleteOk I voted for my favourites - but I also enjoy your blog because of the variety - and if some posts grab me more than others, so what. There are other people probably enjoying them more than the ones I like...
ReplyDeleteBlogging is really for you - writing about what interests/ worries/ fascinates/ stimulates/ amuses you. We just come along for the ride but I do agree with you - comments remind you that real people read the posts and care enough to battle the dreaded comment form and respond :) Congratulations on six years :)
Ok, I've voted. Just about ticked every box so I 'm interested in all your posts really. I especially liked the one you did recently about your art with the peacock theme. I think others would love all the other examples that came from that peacock theme too.
ReplyDeleteI think the variety of posts let us get to know the different facets of you and that is what we really like.
I second Helen's perspective.
DeleteVoted here too x
ReplyDeletehi Katherine, I am new to your blog and thank you for stopping by mine. I have certainly enjoyed my visit. I voted but only because I touched on what I liked. I hope with everyone's input you can decide on where to go from here. Personally I think your blog is great. Congratulations on the 6th year mark. That's quite an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteOh, so now I'm a fruit, a cherry, and a nut! That's okay; I forgive you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your six years of blogging. My six-year mark was September 28th last, and if you're anything like me, it doesn't seem possible.
I've been reading your blog for about three years, I think, but I recognized fewer than half the photographs. I especially like the one of you and whats-his-name and Shirley on your front porch.
And the birds. And the sunsets. And anything you do. Sometimes your artsy ones kind of leave me befuddled because I don't have an artistic bone in my body (no comments from the peanut gallery), but they always stretch my mind (and it really needs stretching occasionally).
I feel my own internal engine beginning to slow down or shift and I don't care at times about my own blog, So far, though, I'm still managing to put a new post up every few days.
Keep doing what you're doing, Katherine, and I'll keep returning while there's breath in my body.
I fell in love with your blog the first time I saw it and I've been in love ever since. I really don't care about what you post so long as you keep posting. Some of life is deep and earnest but most is not. I think that a blog that reflects that is just about right for me.
ReplyDeleteI think your photographic journey is wonderful... especially the one with the lamb in kitchen and you in your amazing balloon hat!
ReplyDeleteSusan
I love Your blog and GB expressed exsactly what I mean about it. I am so happy that You are back and I have voted but keep posting whatever You feel for and I am sure I will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to get your comments everyone, and really great to get feedback as to what you particularly like to read here. I enjoy writing all kinds of things, but I also enjoy being read. So, THANKS!
