'I'm always looking for the Hows and the Whys and the Whats,' said Muskrat, 'That is why I speak as I do. You've heard of Muskrat's Much-in-Little, of course?'
'No,' said the child. 'What is it?'

Arapuni Hydroelectric Power station

Here's a little jaunt-post today through the green dairy farms of the Waikato to the recently renovated Arapuni Dam. It is still generating power today despite being commissioned 'way back in 1929. Only one-way traffic is allowed on the top of the dam, but there was room for us to stroll. And a fisherman. We said "Hello Tony! How's the fishing today?" even though we'd never met him in our lives before. He was a very friendly chap.

Our old farm.

Thank you Claire for the images.

  1. There's something about New Zealand I love looking at.

  2. The air is very clear here Robert. The light is very bright. On a sunny day everything looks like the contrast is turned up and the colours are so vivid and crisp it can hurt your eyes.

    Perhaps that's it?
